When Russia invaded Ukraine, I was in a hotel room and watching CNN. Video footage of families leaving their homes, children crying, a nuclear plant that was on fire, it was truly chaos and I couldn't believe it was happening. Per usual, with hard-times, I grabbed my guitar and this song came out. As much as I wanted to edit my lyrics, I wanted this song to bleed from the moment. Besides a few tweaks on the 3rd verse, what you hear is what I came up with on that night. My heart goes out to the Ukranian people and what they have and are continuing to go through, along with Israel and Hamas families. War is awful and these should be stark reminders for our country on what happens when order loses its way, when dictators rule, when we forget to feel for our fellow human beings.
